Protect Yourself from COVID-19
Staying at home is your best protection.
COVID-19 is now spreading in our community.
Our country is experiencing widespread cases of COVID-19, straining hospitals to capacity.
Working together as a community, we can slow the spread of COVID-19.
Avoid travel
Avoid travelling outside of the Appalachian Highlands region and limit visitors from outside the area – especially from known COVID-19 hotspots.
Are you sick?
First
If you’re sick, stay home.
If a family member is sick, keep them home.
Then call
Call Ballad Health Nurse Connect at 833-822-5523.
Avoid…
- Groups of more than 10
- People who are sick, sneezing or coughing
And keep a distance of six feet in any smaller gatherings.
Wear a mask
Due to the increased risk of virus transmission with the Omicron variant, the CDC now recommends better-quality masks over cloth coverings to protect against COVID-19, including surgical/procedural, N-95, KN-95 or KF94 masks.
Wash up
Washing your hands is your best defense to prevent exposure to this virus.
Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds – especially after sneezing or touching your face, mouth, nose or eyes.
And please try not touching your face, especially your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
An alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used as an alternative, but handwashing is your best defense.
Free COVID-19 vaccines
COVID-19 vaccinations are available at your local pharmacy. Search for your closest COVID-19 vaccine location by visiting the CDC's vaccine finder.
