Robotic surgery for minimally invasive procedures
All our general surgeons and surgical oncologists have access to Ballad Health's new da Vinci® XI robotic surgery system for minimally invasive procedures.
This system offers our staff highly advanced surgical technology to provide additional benefits for patients.

This advanced surgical technology is the only one of its kind in the region – only available at Ballad Health facilities.
Bariatric and weight loss surgery
We currently do not offer bariatric or weight loss surgery at Surgical Associates of Kingsport. For inquiries about bariatric surgical procedures, we recommend contacting the Comprehensive Weight Management Center.
Preparing for your procedure
Before your surgery, we'll provide you with instructions that you'll need to follow prior to your appointment.
You may also be asked to take part in pre-operative testing, which might include:
- Temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate checks
- Blood testing
- EKG/ECG
- Diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays or CT scans
After your procedure
After your surgery, you'll be taken to a specialized recovery area. Your recovery time will depend upon the specific procedure.
