Where, when and how
General surgeons perform some procedures in their offices such as skin excisions. Most others are performed in hospitals and surgery centers.
Many procedures now are “same-day,” meaning the patient can go home that afternoon.
Many procedures are also “minimally invasive,” such as colon, gallbladder, anti-reflux and hernia surgery. This allows for less scarring and pain and helps patients resume daily activities faster.
Our surgeons also practice endoscopy, including gastroscopy for ulcer disease/reflux and colonoscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of colon polyps.
