Francis Marion Manor Health & Rehabilitation is a 109-bed licensed nursing care facility and an entity of Smyth County Community Hospital.
Francis Marion Manor Health & Rehabilitation provides both skilled and nursing facility-level health care services, including 24-hour nursing services, a registered dietitian, physical and occupational therapists, a speech language pathologist, certified activity staff, a social worker and is accredited by the Virginia Department of Health.
Skilled Care Services
Services related to this type of care may include:
- Daily administration of intravenous medication
- Daily cleaning and dressing of certain wounds
- Diabetes-related care
- Physical, occupational and/or speech therapy following orthopedic surgery, stroke or accident
- Strict or complicated medication regimens
Individuals admitted to the skilled care nursing unit require specialized treatment five to seven days per week and need to show continual improvement. The goal of skilled care is to assist in improving functions to prepare for a smooth transition home. As their care continues, meetings with family and patient determine the next steps in care.

Typically, individuals for whom nursing facility care is appropriate include those who need help with the following aspects of daily living:

- Bowel/bladder assistance
