Shane Hilton
Chief Financial Officer
Shane Hilton has more than 30 years of healthcare finance experience, with more than 20 as part of Ballad Health before being named the system’s chief financial officer.
Hilton began his career with the system in 2000, joining legacy Mountain States Health Alliance prior to the merger that created Ballad Health. He served as Mountain States’ vice president and chief financial officer for market operations, overseeing finances for the system’s flagship facility, Johnson City Medical Center, as well as 12 other hospitals in Tennessee and Virginia, two nursing homes and the home health and hospice division. Before that, he held leadership positions as vice president and chief financial officer for the system’s Tennessee operations; director of accounting and accounts payable; controller for Washington County operations; and chief financial officer for Washington County operations.
Prior to joining Mountain States, Hilton was the CFO for Lancaster General Hospital-Susquehanna Division in Columbia, Pennsylvania.
He is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and a Fellow of The Advisory Board. Hilton holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and a Master of Business Administration. He has served on multiple community boards and finance committees, condominium associations and hospital committees. He is Bronze Certified from Simpler in Lean principles, value and waste identification, A3 thinking and process improvement.
