Andy Wampler

General Counsel

Andy Wampler currently serves as General Counsel for Ballad Health. Before taking on this role, he was a shareholder at Wilson Worley, PC, where he practiced for two decades and served as the firm’s president. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Virginia, having litigated in Federal and State courts in both states. He began working with local healthcare providers in 2001 and has since served as general counsel for the Johnson City Industrial Development Board and Johnson City Housing Authority, among other organizations. He is also AV rated by Martindale Hubbell.

The Tennessee Supreme Court has appointed Wampler as Assistant Examiner for the Board of Law Examiners and as Disciplinary Hearing Officer for the Board of Professional Responsibility. He has been an active member of the bar, serving in the TBA House of Delegates and as president of the local bar association. He has published numerous articles, writing and speaking on healthcare, employment, litigation and compliance topics. He has volunteered with many community boards and councils, having served as chair for the Kingsport Chamber, Kingsport Chamber Foundation, Abundantly Blessed Ministries, Covenant Counseling, United Way of Greater Kingsport, Sullivan County Family Justice Center, Visit Kingsport, FunFest, Small Miracles, Kingsport Boys & Girls Club, Rotary Sunrise, Kingsport Jaycees, Leadership Kingsport, Kingsport Tomorrow and Allandale Advisory Council.

Wampler holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude with Honors, from Presbyterian College, where he was recognized as the Outstanding Senior in English and the Outstanding Senior in Political Science. He earned a Master of Arts in English literature and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee. Wampler has received several awards for his leadership and service, including recognition as a Leader in Christian Service by Milligan College and a Distinguished Leader by the Community Leadership Association. He is also an Eagle Scout. Wampler resides in Kingsport with his wife, Jenny, and their three children.
